HANLIN READING SOCIETY
Hanlin
Reading Society was established on October 26th, 2003, as an
activity group under the Singapore Joo Chiat Community Club. With the
objective of promoting culture and reading, the society has organised a
series of activities, including large-scale public talks, quizzes on cultural
knowledge, guided-reading and recital courses, regular guided-reading
sessions, as well as book launches, amongst others. The society has also
participated proactively in the activities organised by other
organisations,
such as the World Reading Day each year.
On
the day that it turned three years on October 26th, 2006,
Hanlin Reading Society (Singapore) was registered under the Societies Act
(No. 2163/2006),
and shall focus on larger scale activities involving external / foreign
parties. The regular activities shall continue to be held at Joo Chiat.
The Committee members are from the same team.
